Busy weekend Once again trying to get myself in the habit of actually using this (haha, like that'll last). Anyways, actually had a fun weekend for once. Helped a friend finish moving on Friday after work and hung out for awhile until Erin got off work. Saturday was pretty quiet in the morning but ended up being quite a blast as we managed to make it out to the drag show for the first time in months. It's no longer at the club here in Moscow that hosted it the last time I went (sad because it was a much roomier venue but apparently the owner's something of a jackass), so we met up in Pullman with some friends and had a blast, I even danced a little. (sortof...) Next time have to remember to bring money to tip the drag kings and queens. Ended the night at our newly opened Sharis where the wait staff was exceedingly attentive and the manager even stopped by a few times to see how we were doing (I don't know if we scared him or he was just being polite and attentive since it's a new store) hopefully the place won't get too ridiculously busy once school starts again but I'm not holding out much hope. Sunday was pretty quiet, I finished up a rental from Netflix which I might review later but otherwise did very little other than wonder if I could take enough benadryll to knock myself out so my allergies would stop.

PS3 GET! So we finally picked up a PS3 a week ago, taking advantage of a $100 gift card deal Wal-Mart had going for father's day. So far we've picked up a few Blu-Ray movies and MGS4 anyone have suggestions for a) showcase Blu-Ray releases, or b) good PS3 games (already renting GTA4).
Sakuracon Ok, promised the wife I'd ask around so here goes.
Who all is going to Sakuracon?
We're looking at possibly going this year and wanted to get some idea of a) if anyone I know is going so I can finally meet up with people I've known for ages, and b) seeing about rooming accommodations since a room for the 2 of us for the weekend may end up pushing the trip out of our budget.
Anyways, comments appreciated, it would be nice to finally make it to a con after all these years. (and being surrounded by anime geeks might force the wife to watch and enjoy some for once) -Shinohara (since noone seems to know who I am on here)

Must stop buying DVDs! Well, after another round of overspending at Hastings (buy one get one for a penny! how can I resist?!) I managed to refrain from buying a PS3. But only temporarily, I just figured I should buy a HDTV set first. So sometime in the next day or two I'll be ordering a 37" 1080p set from Newegg and will pick up the PS3 around the time it's ordered. ( Photos of my scary DVD collection and a list of it's contents after the cut )
Christmas Well, I managed to survive christmas, no thanks to our wonderful North Idaho roads and weather. Managed to end up hitting a small patch of ice on the way up north, spun the car around, went across the (thankfully empty) oncoming lane, through a ditch and a lot of snow and ended up against a barbed-wire fence. Amazingly enough noone was hurt, including the car, which suffered only a bent antenna and a few scrapes on one corner of the rear bumper. The drive home christmas evening wasn't much better. We made it about 1/3 of the way home before it started snowing, and snow it did. We crept along at 35 or less for the next 20-30 miles before we finally pulled over and got a hotel room for the night.
As an upside to the whole debacle, my christmas present from my wife arrived early from Amazon after I got home. ( Ultimate goodness )
You can change the world around you. You have a strong will and a high technical aptitude. Is it possible you are the one? Now if only Agent Smith would quit beating up your friends.

Just finished up a lovely round of Doom the Boardgame with some friends, quite the enjoyable day off overall.
Amusing video Was cleaning up my office and found the disc that holds the student film I helped produce a couple years ago. The audio was horribly in need of some post work and the acting from the 2 leads makes Keanu Reeves look like an oscar winner but it's still funny and decently executed from a technical standpoint considering only 2 of us involved in the production really had any idea about how films were put together. I added subs to it since I've got some hearing impaired friends and it's hard to understand parts of it even with perfect hearing. Runs about 10 minutes, make sure you turn your volume up. Comments and criticisms not just accepted but appreciated.
New Transformers Trailer Since I haven't see anyone else on my friends list post this yet. http://www.transformersmovie.com/main.html New Transformers trailer, there's even HD versions of it via Yahoo.
In Memory My Grandfather passed this morning at 3:30 am. He was one of the greatest people I've ever known and the one true role model in my life. He gave me my love of electronics and fixing things, and building things.
PS2 suggestion Ok, since I finally have a PS2 again I'm looking for fun games I might have missed out on in the last couple years. I'm already planning on getting Shadow of the Colossus and the Katamari games and have MGS3 to play through, what are some other games I might want to look into getting?

Random Creativity Had some spare time recently and realized I haven't updated my LJ in... well, I don't want to think about it.
Anyways, small gallery of some work I've done recently. Greeble Gallery.
Mostly little fiddly bits to go on larger models for an animation project I'm involved in.
Engagement Well, I mentioned a few weeks back that I'm engaged and I just finally got a reasonably decent photo of the two of us (better ones on the way). My Fiance and Me.
Corrections As usual I blew things at least a little out of proportion last night (a little anyways), still a bit upset about it and things in general recently. Ended up going for a nice long walk with a friend that helped blow off some steam and realize not everyone's against me. Now I just need to sit down and have a chat so I can get the air cleared and have things go back to how they were with one of my friends, I'm really starting to miss hanging out. Once that done it leaves only a few non social issues left to get sorted out and then my life might start behaving somewhat normally for once.... Dear god, can I even handle that? My life's never been normal, I won't know what to do. ^_^

Weekends suck Lots going on, none involving me (go figure). Know I shouldn't be upset but I am anyways. Anyways, long story I don't want to get into since most of those involved can/do read this. Anyways, it's still Friday, miracles could happen and the rest of the weekend could go well.
Yes, I'm a sheep and I know it, I suppose it helps that people actually read my journal now making me more inclined to actually put stuff in it. On the downside it means I can't rant in here or everyone will see it. :)
Had a fun evening, brain is melting, need some caffeine or sleep, still undecided.
Craziness is wonderful Yay for staying up till 6:00 in the morning, yay for clothing fights in the dark (don't ask), and yay for putting sleeping people into the elevator. You guys all rule, now I must sleep.
